Introduction The environment in which paintings are stored or displayed has a significant impact on their condition and long-term preservation.

Environmental factors discussed in this Note are lighting, relative humidity (RH), temperature, pollution and biological activity (insect pests and fungal contamination).

For more information on this subject see CCI Note 10/4 Environmental and Display Guidelines for Paintings. Do not hang paintings in areas where they might be brushed against or touched by passers-by (e.g.

Our polluted air and oceans, global warming, deforestation and the consequences of mass consumption for the environment are among the subjects dealt with by contemporary environmental art through photography, painting. Environmental Graphic Design (EGD) embraces many design disciplines including graphic, architectural, interior, landscape, and industrial design, all concerned with the visual aspects of wayfinding, communicating identity and information, and shaping the idea of creating experiences that connect people to place.

We will discuss the theory of additive/subtractive painting, painting in a XYZ coordinates system, and ways to add some texture to our paintings. Week 8 | Let's Just Paint You now have all the tools to create an environment painting, so now let's just have fun and paint.
